Libba Bray

Envisions of Life, LLC came to fruition in Greensboro, NC in January 2001 — the brainchild of Tomeko Moore, a native of Goldsboro, NC. After graduating from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a degree in Psychology, Mrs. Moore worked with numerous human services agencies in the Triad.

Through work experiences with agencies such as Moses Cone Hospital (Psychiatric Unit) and the Greensboro Police Department, along with her own personal life experiences, the desire to achieve smart growth geared towards helping at-risk children was instilled in Mrs. Moore. She was driven to teach and develop ideas in a more dynamic environment while generating positive outcomes for the community.

In order to continue providing great leadership and outstanding services, Mrs. Moore attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing a Master of Social Work with certifications in School Social Work and Substance Abuse Counseling. Her commitment to education and service excellence continues to guide the agency's growth and impact.

Our History

Over Two Decades of Serving North Carolina

Envisions of Life, LLC is a private for-profit company dedicated to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate the ongoing changes within NC mental health reform. Our primary goal is to assist individuals and families in maintaining a stable environment — avoiding more restrictive and costly settings such as training schools, juvenile detentions, prisons, and psychiatric hospitals.

Envisions of Life received its first national accreditation through the Council on Accreditation in 2012. In 2020, a three-year accreditation was received from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International), an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services.

We provide services such as Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT), Diagnostic Assessments, Outpatient Therapy, and Medication Management — all driving forces for the agency in the Triad Area. Today, Envisions of Life remains as committed to its founding mission as ever, serving thousands of individuals and families across North Carolina.

Treatment Philosophy

Structure. Consistency. Evidence-Based Care.

At Envisions of Life, an important part of successful treatment is structure, consistency, and the use of Reality Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Consumers are faced with changes and inconsistencies which make it hard for them to handle the stresses of life. Structure, consistency, CBT, and Reality Therapy all rely on one another to help provide the best treatment for consumers.

Structure

Structure provides consumers with direction and responsibilities tied to realistic time periods. Most consumers have difficulty with structure because they are unaccustomed to it — our approach helps them adjust and build the routines that support lasting recovery.

Consistency

Conforming to the same principles and course of action allows consumers to know exactly what is available to them based on the decisions they choose to make — creating a stable, predictable foundation for growth.

Reality Therapy

Reality Therapy puts the responsibility of consumers' behaviors back on themselves rather than shifting blame elsewhere. Consumers are encouraged to explore alternative methods of problem solving and find new ways of achieving their goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a proven psychological treatment effective for depression, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. Numerous studies show CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life — often as effective as or more effective than other therapies or psychiatric medications.
