About

Leadership

Given our complex world, there are many things that need to be considered, so providing true leadership can be as valuable to an agency as the products or services it provides. Envisions of Life came to fruition in Greensboro, NC January 2001. The existence of Envisions of Life, LLC was the brainchild of Tomeko Moore, a native of Goldsboro, NC.

After graduating from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a degree in Psychology Mrs. Moore worked with numerous human services agencies in the Triad. Through work experiences with agencies such as Moses Cone Hospital (Psychiatric Unit), Greensboro Police Department and her own personal life experiences the desire to achieve smart growth geared towards helping at risk children was instilled in Mrs. Moore. Mrs. Moore was interested in teaching and developing ideas in an environment more dynamic, in addition to concentrating on generating positive outcomes for the community.

Envisions of Life, LLC is a private for profit company dedicated to helping children, adolescents, adults, as well as families conform to and confront the ongoing changes within the NC mental health reform. Envisions of Life, LLC primary goal is to assist individuals and families, maintain a stable environment by avoiding more restrictive and costly environments such as training schools, juvenile detentions, prisons, and psychiatric hospitals.

Envisions of Life, LLC received its first national accreditation through the Council of Accreditation in 2012 until 2020. In 2020 a three year accreditation was received by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. We provide services such as Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT), Diagnostic Assessments, Outpatient Therapy, and Medication Management, which are all the driving force for the agency in the Triad Area.

In order to continue to provide great leadership and outstanding services Mrs. Moore attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill completing a Masters in Social Work with certifications in School Social Work and Substance Abuse Counseling. Ultimately, the benefits of not only pleasing consumers, but operating a agency in a society’s best interest will help Envisions of Life, LLC sustain itself during a time of economic turbulence.

Treatment

At Envisions of Life an important part of successful treatment is structure, consistency and the use of Reality Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Consumers are faced with changes and inconsistencies which make it hard for them to handle the stresses of life.

Consistency or conforming to the same principles or course of action allows the consumers to know exactly what is available to them upon the decisions that they choose to make.

Structure is used to provide the consumers with direction and responsibilities to realistic time periods. Most consumers have problems with structure because they are unaccustomed to structure and have difficulty adjusting to it.

The Reality Therapy method is used to put the responsibility of the consumers’ behaviors back on themselves as opposed to shifting the blame on someone else. Consumers may choose to explore other methods of problem solving and find alternatives for achieving their goals.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns.

Structure, consistency, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality therapy all rely on one another to help in the quest for providing the best treatment for consumers.
